Welcome to the Bhabendra HPC Club                                                            Protect your heart and live a healthier life: follow Bhabendra HPC Club regularly to prevent the risk of heart attack.

BHABENDRA HPC CLUB: The HPC (Heart Preventive Care) club aims to educate individuals natural ways to prevent coronary heart disease, which is the number one leading cause of heart attacks. There are various types of heart disease. These include coronary artery disease (CAD), Heart Failure, Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), Stroke, and more. The most common type of heart disease is coronary artery disease (CAD). CAD affects the blood flow to the heart due to the plaques in the coronary artery, and the decreased blood flow can cause a heart attack. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) heart attack is the leading cause of death for men and women.  One person dies in every 36 seconds from a heart attack, which is why we should focus our full attention on maintaining a healthy heart.  A healthy heart can reduce the risk of high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high LDL cholesterol.  Bhabendra's HPC club has developed two cycles to help individuals successfully maintain a healthy heart throughout one's life. These two cycles are further explained in detail later in this website.

The two cycles are as follows:

Healthy Heart (HH) Cycle consists of five processes.  These steps are Heart healthy food, Aerobic exercise, stress free life, regular monitoring and maintaining the cycle.

Run, Test and Verify (RTV) cycle has three processes. These steps are Run, Test and Verify respectively:

Run: Run four to five miles, or 30 to 45 minutes in a day--five days in a week.  The amount of running depends on one's age, physical and/or medical conditions. Running is one of the best aerobic exercises.

Test:  Diagnostic testing is the second step in the RTV cycle. After running, we need to test our blood every six months, depending on the individual. This test is called "lipid panel test", which is used to monitor and screen for the cardiovascular disease. Your health care provider may also order HDL/LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose, or fibrinogen in your labs too.

Verify: This is the last step in RTV cycle. In this step, we need to verify if our test reports are at a normal range for a healthy heart. If not, additional steps—such as increasing aerobic exercise or eating more heart-healthy foods—may be necessary. For more information see: "Key Diagnostic tests" in this website.

Maintaining a strong, healthy heart is achievable through the "Healthy Heart Cycle"(HH) and the "RTV Cycle." These two cycles work together as one comprehensive approach to heart health. RTV (Run, Test, and Verify) emphasizes aerobic exercise, which is a critical step in the "Healthy Heart Cycle." As we know, aerobic exercise is essential for maintaining heart health. For this reason, we have chosen running as a convenient and highly beneficial aerobic activity. However, people with disabilities who cannot run, walk, jog or wheelchair people can till perform cardiovascular exercises to work for their heart.  Such as: Swimming, seated exercises like arm circles, wheelchair push-ups, hand cycling, wheelchair sports; basketball, and water aerobics any activity that raises their heart rate while seated or using their wheelchair can be considered heart exercise.  But make sure learn those exercises with the proper guidance.  For more information follow the link NHS web site. Together, the Healthy Heart Cycle and RTV Cycle form the foundation for maintaining a healthy heart, helping to protect against any heart disease as well as heart attacks.

This website will cover the causes and prevention of heart disease by focusing on the HH and RTV cycles. Additional information such as heart healthy foods, and key diagnostic tests are also included.
